Flashrock Invitational

The Flashes were 3rd in the "Green" Race and 6th "Combined" at the Flashrock Invitational on Saturday. We had a great showing from Jason Crist, who was runner-up to NC's Futsum Zeinessellassie, who posted the fastest time in the United States for the year and Indiana history.

The Flashes pack battled from behind all day, but came up just short of beating North Central and Lawrence Central. We also edged out recent rival Zionsville in the combined results.

It certainly is a close and exciting year for Indiana Cross Country. With the "regular season" over, we now enter our County, Conference, and Tournament Series season.

Here are the full results.

Ben Davis Invitational

Both Varsity and JV Boys fared well Saturday at the Ben Davis Invitational. The Varsity was edged out by Zionsville for the second week in a row. To give you an idea of how close the meet was, had our 2-3 runners run a combined 15 seconds faster, we would have won.

Jason Crist had a tough battle from Ben Davis' Luke Brahm, but managed to pull away in the closing 75 meters to get the win and new course record. Full results can be found here.

In JV action, there was a fight to the line between two Flashes: Evan Shuck (1st) and Shane Wright (2nd). Both runners broke the 17:00 barrier! Full results can be found here.

Varsity:

Zionsville 44
Franklin Central 57
Lawrence North 145

JV:
Franklin Central 29
Center Grove 64
Zionsville 76

The Flashes will see action again at the co-hosted Flashrock Invitational at Northview Christian Church in Carmel. There should be some fun and exciting races as teams are now winding down their "regular seasons" in preparation for conference, county, and the tournament. Go Flashes!
